At this point, just release the mouse button and it will remove the eject icon from your menu bar. You can either drag it left or right to reposition it, or drag it down and off the menu bar until you see a small “x” icon appear. Eject a disc from a Finder window: Click the Finder icon in the Dock to open a Finder window, then in the Finder. Eject a disc from an optical drive: Press the Eject key. Simply hold the Command key on your keyboard and click and hold on the eject icon. To eject a disc from an external optical drive, do any of the following: Eject a disc from the desktop: Select the disc you want to eject, then choose File > Eject disc. If you want to remove the eject icon later, or if you don’t know how it got there in the first place, you can rearrange or remove it via the same method as any other menu bar icon. As mentioned, this works even if you don’t currently have an optical drive connected, in which case clicking on the eject icon will report No Drives. Click on it to see which optical drive it detects and you can then click on the desired disc to eject it. This will immediately add the eject icon to your menu bar. The drive will work perfectly and like new You don't need to insert it so much since the lens is not so deep inside. Wrap the cloth around the credit card, then while holding the ends of the the cloth insert few centimeters from the front of the credit card covered with the cloth in the optical drive, push and pull a bit and that's about it. What you need is a business card or a credit card + iPhone cleaning cloth (other similar cleaning cloth that's thin and doesn't leave marks for example for cleaning glasses). Searching the Apple sight there were suggestions from resetting to taking it in to apple to have it replaced. It would stay inside the drive for maybe 30 seconds and it would then eject.
